Meet our Golf Instructors
|Christopher Gay, PGA – Head Golf Professional
“My teaching philosophy is simple - I listen. Instead of fitting my students into a mold I want to understand your goals and objectives. Training to become the next club champion is different than wanting to stop slicing, wanting to hit the ball higher or breaking 100. Once we have a plan in place - we will have fun getting to the next level”
A PGA Professional since 2001, Chris has taught at the Presidio Golf Course in San Francisco and was the lead instructor at the Indian Hill Country Club in Newington, Connecticut. Originally from Petaluma, Chris has made an around the country journey back to Petaluma where he took over as Head Golf Professional in July of 2013. During Chris’ 15 years of teaching experience he has been a Special Olympics Coach, US Kids Certified Coach and Junior PGA Golf Tour Chairman. He has taught thousands of lessons including beginners, juniors and accomplished players.

Stevan Peters - Assistant Golf Professional
When it comes to instruction, my goal is to provide you with the building blocks you need to be successful and improve. I’m a believer that huge breakthroughs are possible. When I was 13, I took my first lesson with a PGA Professional. I had never broken 100 before. We started in May and by the end of the summer, I was posting scores in the 60s with regularity. The key to such a transformation is having a game plan. Success does not happen by accident, but with a methodical and dedicated approach.
Stevan entered the PGA Apprentice program in 2013 after a strong amateur career. Playing for the NCAA Division I Idaho State Bengals, he competed with and against some of the best amateurs in the country. Originally from the Bay Area, Stevan moved back to his hometown of Vallejo in 2013 and began his new career in the golf industry. With stops at TPC Stonebrae and StoneTree Golf Club, he took his talents to Petaluma in 2015 where he provides private and group lessons for the membership and the general public.
